Verbal Harassment Complaint Is Ignored By Employer

Beth was working as a server at a restaurant. She had recently been promoted to a server from to-go’s after some senior executives from corporate came down to conduct reviews on all the locations. In addition to several promotions, a new manager was also hired. Dave, the new manager, had been the first new employee at the restaurant in some time. Many of the restaurant staff had developed very close-knit relationships and had friendships outside of work as well. Dave had been having trouble remembering some of the servers’ names and had taken to making up nicknames for them. Beth, being one of the names he could not remember, noticed that Dave only forgot the names of the female employees. Her nickname was “double dunk” in reference to her chest size which she thought was completely inappropriate. She had brought it up verbally to Dave on numerous occasions, saying she felt that name was inappropriate but Dave brushed off her concerns. She felt that there was nothing she could do since Dave was acting that way toward all the female servers. Her nickname, by far, was the most inappropriate and after two weeks, Dave had developed a special greeting for her to accompany the nickname. He would go up to her and say, “Hey double dunk” and then do a slam-dunk motion on her chest. She finally contacted the corporate HR department but her complaint was never answered. When she followed up, the representative was very disorganized and couldn’t find her complaint. Beth made several others but, in the end, needed the help of a Anaheim sexual harassment lawyer

DUI Lawyers Have Many Defenses

Hello,

I’m Samantha and I have been researching DUI defenses online because I want to fight my DUI in court. There is a lot of information out there. Are there any lawyers out there that can give me some potential defenses for my DUI? At first, I refused the breathalyzer test and the officer informed me about the Implied Consent Law and told me I had to take the breathalyzer or the blood test. That didn’t seem right to me, but I took it anyway and my test came back past the legal limit. The officer told me he pulled me over for driving erratically and weaving. I really don’t think that is true because I saw him behind me for miles and I was making sure I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary. I want to defend myself because I can’t really afford all these Moreno Valley DUI attorneys right now. Basically, I just need some defense ideas.

Hi Samantha,

You need the services of any number of DUI Lawyers in the county where your arrest occurred. The chances of successfully dismissing, and even reducing, the DUI charges when you defend yourself are slim to nothing. Have you gotten a free consultation from one or more DUI attorneys? Quality, skillful DUI lawyers will always give you a free consultation so you know what your chances are for dismissing or reducing the charges. Retaining a lawyer is probably not as expensive as you think either, especially when you consider what a DUI conviction costs. After fines, DUI school, court costs, loss of license expenses and the increase in insurance, your first time DUI could run you more than $5,000 dollars. A solid attorney will cost you less than that figure. You will also be surprised at just how many possible defenses there are. From challenging the BAC test and the road conditions to deeply examining the arrest report and probable cause, an experienced DUI attorney can find a way to keep you from being convicted of DUI. But, these defenses take a smart and savvy jurist who knows the county court system. Don’t go it alone Samantha!

Four Mistakes a Divorce Lawyer Can Help You To Avoid

The advice of a lawyer will help you make the best decisions and have a positive outcome for your future, whether you are going through a Divorce, Legal Separation, or Annulment. Below are four common mistakes that people make while divorcing that a lawyer can help you to avoid.

  1. Rushing: Divorcing couples often try to rush to court because they want to get out of the marriage so bad. They want to get the marriage and process over, so they do not take the time to complete the steps needed before going to court. This causes a lot of unnecessary stress, confusion, and can lead to making impulsive decisions that both parties will later regret. A divorce lawyer will be able to guide you through the divorce settlement process, advise you on what steps to take, and to ensure that you have are completely ready before heading to court.
  2. Financial Independence: Along with rushing, people often don’t forget that when getting divorced they need to have their own, independent financial life set-up and in place before making the divorce final. Many couple share all aspects of their financial life, from banking and credit accounts. You need to ensure that you have started your own accounts and that they are ready to use, so that you can have financial resources when you are divorced. Your lawyer can help you through making this happen and establishing your financial name, so that you can have a successful life on your own.
  3. Overspending: Couples going through a divorce often try to hurt their soon to be ex-spouse by spending a lot of money and buying extravagant items. It is important to remember that the divorce process can be expensive and you will need a good amount of money in order to complete the process. Your lawyer will be able to advise you on the potential cost of a divorce and ensure you plan accordingly.
  4. Don’t Sign Until You Understand: Never sign any type of legal documents, especially a divorce settlement, without having it reviewed by an attorney and having them counsel you on what it all means. Your ex may be trying to hide something in the fine print and try to get something over you. Your lawyer will be able to help you from making a legal mistake by giving you a fully understanding of all documents and their implication.

Getting a divorce and determining Legal Decision Making

Going through a divorce can be rough on anyone. Especially, because so many life-changing decisions are made. Custody and child support issues are really difficult. The Divorce process is easier, if the parents reach an agreement on all issues. The parties need to agree on custody, child support, property division, debt issues and alimony. Once an agreement is reached, the parties obtain a consent decree without going to court. Attorneys will draft the consent decree, settlement agreement and any other necessary documents. If there are minor children, attorneys will also draft a parenting plan and child support worksheet. The term custody is no longer used. Custody is now known as “Legal Decision-Making.” Visitation time is now known as “parenting time.” Parents have a choice of Sole Legal Decision Making or Joint Legal Decision-Making.

Sole Decision Making is where one of the parents make all the major decisions involving the children. Joint Legal Decision Making is where both parents make all the major decisions together involving the children. This can be used when the parties have equal parenting time. Or, when one of the parents has more time with the children, and the other parent has rights with regards to decision making. The parent with more time with the children is called the “primary residential parent.” If the parties cannot agree, the court makes the decision. The Court looks at certain factors including how the children get along with each parent and why, and the mental and physical health of each parent. Another important factor is which parent is more likely to work well, with the other parent, regarding parenting time, and other issues. The law states that the decision cannot be made based on the gender of the parents. The Court will also determine child support, if the parents cannot agree. In determining child support, the Court looks at the income of each parent and the parent who has primary parenting time. The costs of day care and education are also considered, as well as any special needs of the children. When the parents can’t agree, it’s wonderful to realize that we have a legal system that looks at the best interests of the children.

Lisa Needs Lawyers for Short-Term Disability

Lisa was working as a grounds keeper at a local zoo. She had been working for thirteen years and loved her job and the people she worked with. One day, on her way home from work, she was struck by a vehicle running a red light. The accident had broken her leg in two places and required surgery and physical therapy. She applied for short-term disability which her employers granted. Lisa had been out of work for three months but was making great progress. She could walk with a cane for a ways and sit and stand without assistance. After another week, her doctors allowed her to return to work on light duty. Lisa’s work duties were shortened by her direct supervisor, Angie. Angie sympathized for her and wanted to do anything she could do to help. With Lisa’s limitations, she needed to hire another grounds keeper to fulfill the rest of Lisa’s prior duties.  Phil, Angie’s boss, wondered why Angie had two people doing one person’s job and reprimanded her for a bad management decision. Angie was instructed to fire Lisa since the new girl was capable of doing the job herself. Angie did as she was instructed and fired Lisa. On top of being wrongfully terminated, Lisa was unable to collect Disability. She needed help fast so she called the medical leave attorneys in San Bernardino. They were able to provide her with a free consultation and help her investigate the case further. If you feel that you have been in a similar situation, call us today.

Advice On Finding The Best Lawyer To Represent You

Advice On Finding The Best Lawyer To Represent You

Maneuvering your way through the legal system is too risky to try by yourself. You really need professional guidance to accomplish anything in court! Learn the best ways to find the right lawyer and the steps that should follow to protect yourself and find success in any legal proceeding with the following article.

A good tip if you’re looking to hire a lawyer is to make sure you pick the right one. Location can be a big factor when looking to hire a lawyer. If you’re going to being to court soon, it’s absolutely crucial that the lawyer you pick is in the area.

A good tip to keep in mind when thinking about hiring a lawyer is to write down several questions that you wish to ask him or her. You want to find out what their philosophy is and so on, and asking questions will help give you a clear idea about them.

When you are describing the situation that you are in to your lawyer, refrain from lying. You should be telling them the truth at all times, as this could backfire if you are questioned on the stand and your lawyer does not have all information available. Honesty is the best policy, especially in regards to legal issues.

A general practitioner is not always your best option. You might have a good lawyer you trust, but do not hesitate to hire a specialized lawyer if you need help with an issue your lawyer has no experience with. Do not hesitate to ask your usual lawyer for a referral.

If you need a lawyer, you need to make sure you find one that is in the proper jurisdiction. Most of the time you will be able to find a lawyer that is licensed to practice in the state you live in. Make sure they are qualified to practice law within your state.

If you need to hire a lawyer but don’t know where to start, try looking in a lawyer directory such as Nolo. This directory offers a comprehensive profile of all attorneys. The profile provides important information such as his education, experience, fees and the lawyer’s basic philosophy of law. This information can be invaluable in selecting a good lawyer.

Consider how the people who work in the law office treat you. Is the receptionist nice to talk to and fast to respond? If that office takes a while to return any messages you leave, this may be a hint as to how you will be treated as a client.

Make a note of how long it takes a lawyer to schedule your first meeting. If it takes weeks to even see the lawyer for the first time, the lawyer may be too busy to give you proper service. You want a lawyer who puts you high on his list of priorities.

Do not go to Housing court unprepared. That includes having a lawyer by your side. Housing courts are confusing and filled with red tape. Even the slightest misstep can cost your your living arrangements. The law for housing courts can vary from city to city, so a lawyer is your strongest asset.

Never just randomly pick a lawyer out of a phone book or directory to work on your case. Since you do not know anything about a lawyer using this method, you could end up with someone who is incompetent or inexperienced. You could ask loved ones if they know of a lawyer who can help or look at online reviews.

You really can’t go it alone in court and expect to end up with favorable results. The laws are too complicated and the process too confusing. Set yourself up for success by finding the right attorney for the job and following his or her instructions. It will make a big difference in your results.

Hiring A Personal Injury Attorney Bronx May Be More Affordable Than You Think

If you have recently been involved in a car accident, you more than likely have many questions that you need answered and meeting with a personal injury attorney bronx may be the perfect solution for you. It is important to know that you have rights when it comes to an accident and if you are not aware of them, there is a chance that you could settle for an amount that the insurance company offers that is far less than what you really need for your future medical costs. Meeting with a personal injury attorney bronx will allow you to learn what your rights are and help you to be sure that an insurance company doesn’t take advantage of you.

It’s important to realize that insurance companies are in business to make a profit. If they pay people large settlements for their injuries during an accident, it will diminish their profit margin and make their business less successful. Many insurance companies will send an agent to your hospital bed while you are recovering. They will record the conversation that they have with you, so that they can potentially use what you say against you, if you go to court. It is important to tell any agent that you want your personal injury attorney bronx present before you will have any conversation with him or her. This will allow you to be sure that the insurance company is not setting you up for failure and trying to take advantage of the situation.

Many people are afraid to contact a personal injury attorney bronx because they think that they will have to pay a lot of money for the representation. When medical bills are looming, household expenses are racking up, and life in general starts becoming overwhelming, many people cave and accept any offer the insurance company suggests. Most personal injury attorneys only receive money when you win your case. That means that you do not have to pay anything for the representation out of pocket. The personal injury attorney will fight to get you the largest settlement that he or she can and then they will take a portion of the settlement as compensation for their time and effort.

Amazed with horror films

Since I was young, I have always been fond of horror movies. I have always been amazed on how these movies looks so real, how the special effects make the movie so realistic that even the adults get scared as much as the children do. I know that it is not only the makeup and the scenes that count in making these horror films realistic and effective to the public, but the camera angles matter a lot too, big time. You put it all together plus throw in a good selection of good actors and actresses, the result will be awesome. Even until now, nobody can deny that horror films are still among the favorites of moviegoers. This is the reason why I decided to enroll at The Film Connection Film School. I know for a fact that to be really good in producing horror films, one should learn everything there is to learn with no limits. And of course, the most effective way to learn all these is through going into the real world of production itself, and not just sit for hours inside a four-wall classroom, listen to boring lectures and memorize thick text books. It is impossible to learn fast and effectively if this is the case. At The Film Connection Film School, each student will be sent to real production studios and learn everything while working with all the professionals in the industry. Each student also has his own mentor that will guide him throughout the duration of his course.

Financial problems are something that everyone is able to understand. Recent economic hardships have reached every sector of the economy and there are more people than ever who are finding themselves deep in debt with a home mortgage that is “under water”.

The housing bubble’s burst a few years ago caused many homes to lose their resale value and suddenly, houses now had mortgages attached to them for amounts of money much greater than the value of the house itself.

This devaluation of the real estate market has been a major factor in the rise of financial insolvency cases in this country and the trend has not yet begun to fully reverse.

Talking to a bankruptcy attorney in Tucson can help you begin to clarify the issues that are at hand in your own debt to asset ratio and whether you could benefit from a bankruptcy filing.

The main reason that people choose to file for bankruptcy is to be able to have all of their unsecured debts discharged so that they can begin to catch up on paying their monthly expenses.

In most cases of bankruptcy, credit card debts, utility bills and even some loans can be wiped clean from the debtor’s list of bills and they can get a fresh start in their financial lives.

If you choose to schedule a free, initial meeting with a bankruptcy lawyer Tucson area office, you can see how filing a case in federal court to be relieved of your debts could help you begin to manage your finances.

The choice to file Chapter 7 bankruptcy is one that nobody takes lightly. There are some short term and some long term consequences to having a bankruptcy on your credit history, but in many cases, the effects can be mitigated by your immediate re-establishment of a good and responsible paying history with all future bills.

The tucson bankruptcy attorney can best advise you on the path that would fit your financial situation and whether you would benefit the most from a bankruptcy case.
